Linda Tao, MD, FACC, FACP, ABOIM

Dr. Linda Tao is a triple-Board Certified physician in Cardiovascular Diseases, Internal Medicine and Integrative Medicine with over 30 years of clinical experience. Her approach to the treatment and prevention of chronic diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, is from an integrative and functional medicine approach, offering the best possible long-term outcomes for her patients through advanced, data-driven and personalized treatment strategies.

Commitment to the Advancement of Integrative and Functional Medicine

Dr. Tao has been on the teaching faculty at the New York University School of Medicine for the past 28 years. She currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center, where she co-pioneered the first lectures in Integrative and Functional Medicine for NYU medical students, and where she continues to teach. 

Aside from a whole person “systems” approach to the prevention and management of cardiovascular diseases and its risk factors, she is also experienced in mitigating the impact of gastrointestinal dysregulation, stress and lifestyle issues, hormonal imbalances, chronic infectious diseases, and environmental toxicants on vascular inflammation and chronic diseases. 

Specialization, Education and Training

Dr. Tao began her medical training at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine and completed her internship, residency and fellowship training at NYU Langone and Bellevue Hospital Medical Centers, where she began her career for the first 12 years as an Interventional Cardiologist.

In addition to the above, Dr Tao holds an Advanced Fellowship Certification in Metabolic and Nutritional Medicine and is well versed in the use of intravenous therapies for enhanced health and healing for the large portion of patients who also present with gastrointestinal dysfunction.

She has additionally received training in environmental medicine through the AAEM and ISEAI, and is a member of both organizations, and is an official investigator at the NYU Langone Medical Center Site for the NIH and NHLBI-sponsored Trial to Assess Chelation Therapy (TACT 2 Trial) to assess the impact of the removal of heavy metals on cardiovascular disease management. She currently collaborates with NYU’s Center for the Investigation of Environmental Hazards to investigate the role of targeted nutritional supplementation in mitigating the effects of environmental toxicants on human heath.

She is trained in the German technique of Autonomic Response Testing and practices European Injection Techniques (Neural Therapy) to enhance healing and disease management via its effects on the autonomic nervous system

Dr. Tao is an experienced and devoted patient-doctor relationship advocate, who harnesses the latest advances in medical science and technology to co-design health solutions with her patients. She is proficient in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and medical Spanish, and is experienced in treating diverse patient populations from around the world.

Dr. Tao has also partnered with SK Global Entertainment’s CEO, John Penotti, to found SetWellness, a company that provides wellness nutritional support products and services to the hard working ccast and crew members of the film and television industry.
